January 9, 2021Referrals can be made by the family, school officials, DSS, Mental Health Agencies, Pediatricians, or anyone concerned about an individual’s mental health by calling Safe Haven Child and Family Counseling Services. The individual making referrals should be able to discuss the presenting issues of the individual and/or family, and the willingness of the individual and/or family to receive services.
An initial visit will be scheduled to conduct a Psychosocial Assessment (and presenting problem) and determine the best course of treatment through the development of a person-centered and/or family-centered Treatment Plan.
Follow-up visits are determined by medical necessity and severity of presenting problem. Typically, sessions are initially scheduled weekly, with greater time between sessions as the situation improves. Flexible appointments including weekdays, evening and Saturdays. (*The individual and family are central to all decision making, including choice of service, goals for therapy, and strategies for the individual and/or family).
