Safe Haven Child and Family Counseling Services provides therapy from a wellness perspective.
We value diversity and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation or group affiliation, age, handicap/disability, or veterans.
Individual Therapy - generally focuses on various aspects of the individual needs, which may include behavioral control, drug use, mental health symptoms, exploration of family issues, management of aggression, and acquisition of social skills.
Group Therapy - consists of utilizing a therapy approach to help individuals internalize and personalize their problems/issues as well as assist them in connecting their actions to consequences and guiding them through an insight oriented process to utilize new skills and tools. The Facilitator may utilize a free form therapy approach (modeling, confronting, probing, etc.) or utilize the introduction of specific subject matter through structured exercises, handouts, film or topics that lead into a focused group therapy format.
Family Therapy - focuses on solving problems which occur in relationships between family members, spouses, parents, children, siblings, in-laws, extended family, former spouses and friends. Family therapy assists in the education of individuals and families on how the presenting issue impacts family members individually and as a family system. The primary goal is to help individuals and their families personalize, process and address their own situations.
